spillover book coverWelcome to a Global Perspective of Infectious Disease! In this course we will journey through the non-fiction book, Spillover, by award-winning National Geographic novelist, David Quammen. This author will open your eyes and connect dots as he travels the world to various outbreaks to interview the medical professionals in the “hot zone” that worked with “patient zero.” You will learn about topics such as the basic principles in epidemiology, patterns of human behavior that lead to the spread of disease and why certain species of animals are natural "hosts" to various diseases, and more. After this course, you will never look at this World the same again!
