    Welcome to Preparing to Teach Online at Birmingham-Southern College. The questions above are some of the essential questions we will answer through this training. Whether you have taught online before, are a first-timer, or are just curious about virtual learning environments, this course is for you. There are no prerequisites. You don't need to be "tech-savvy" to be successful; You just need to be open-minded.

      All online course are reviewed by the instructional designer at the end of the semester. Strengths and recommendations are cited based on the Quality Matters standards. Before teaching online again, faculty are required to meet with the instructional designer to debrief student evaluation data and course recommendations.

      You have the option to include online student evaluation and online course review data in your tenure packet.

      LightbulbThis activity uses H5P's Documentation tool. The tool creates a fillable form that serves as a document builder or template for students. At the end of the activity, learners export their entries as word document complete with headings. You may want to consider using this tool in your course to help students generate lab reports, research papers, and homework in a consistent format. You can also provide "help" information to explain each section or provide a reminder of the rubric criteria.
