    Fall 2020

Hello and welcome! This online class is mapped out into weekly sections. Each week, you will have a variety of tasks to complete. They will be laid out and numbered in the Moodle topic for that week. Generally, you will be expected to complete the readings and discussion boards for the week by Friday, while other assignments, such as quizzes and written work, will be due on Sundays.

Please also familiarize yourself with the documents in "Course Documents" and "Writing Resources."

The books that you will need for the course are:

Sattar, Arshia, trans. Vālmīki's Rāmāyaṇa. Lanham: Rowman and Littlefield, 2018.

Sword, Helen. Stylish Academic Writing. Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 2012.

On this page (below) there is a Moodle forum that I have set up for feedback on the way the course is organized. Feel free to leave positive feedback or suggestions for improvement. You are also always welcome to email me directly at mksutton@bsc.edu.

The second Moodle forum is for questions about assignments or due dates. You are, of course, welcome to email me directly about these as well.

    Welcome to week 8!

Aside from answering this week's intro question, you should spend a substantial amount of time polishing up your final paper. I am giving you all week to spend solely on this task with no other discussions and readings. Please do not squander this time as it is precious! Remember that the paper that you upload this weekend (Sunday, October 18th at 5:00) should be your final, polished paper with complete and accurate citations and substantial documentation from academic sources.

If you have extra time, you can spend it on your Creative Summary or on reading ahead for next week. I will make next week's readings (on Moodle) available for those who may want to work ahead.

You are required to attend one of the two class meetings this week. If you are unable to attend either Tuesday or Thursday please schedule another time with me.

Good luck, and I am always happy to help you if you would like an individual consultation! Don't hesitate to reach out!
