Chapter 2 Sections 1 - 5
Not published to studentsCurrentChapter 2 topics include masses travelling through a resistive medium. Vertical and horizontal motions are considered for linear and quadratic resistance. Solutions are developed using vectors and differential equations. The motion of charged particles through a magnetic field is also investigated; vectors and differential equations are used here, as well.

Not published to studentsCurrentThe Chapter 3 topics are linear and angular momentum, center-of-mass, and moment-of-inertia. Conservation of momentum applications will include the acceleration of rockets; angular momentum applications will include planetary motions vis-à-vis Kepler's Second Law. Math applications include differential equations, vectors, spherical, polar, and cylindrical coordinate systems (not to mention lots of integration!).
Chapter 4 Sections 1 -8

Line integrals, conservative force and non-conservative forces, gradient, and central forces are investigated. Spherical geometry and partial differential equations are also used in the development and application of physics concepts.
Homework - read through chapter 4. This chapter will be mostly review, as you are mostly familiar with the concepts. Problem installment 1 due next Wednesday -- 4.2 (I am assuming familiarity with line integrals), 4.3, 4,4, 4.5, 4.8, 4.10
