    PH 122 - General Physics II

    This is the second course in calculus-based physics for science and math majors. We will focus on thermal physics, electromagnetism, electric circuits, and geometric optics. You must have college credit for calculus-based General Physics I (PH 121 or equivalent).

      Textbook

      We will be using the free textbook, OpenStax University Physics (Volumes 1, 2, and 3). This text is available in three versions, each useful in its own way.

      • Web-based versions of Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3. These are designed to look good on computer screens, tablets, and even smartphones. Click on the "Contents" box for easy navigation through the books.
      • PDF Versions of Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3. These are good for offline reading, printing, and for use with e-readers. Even if you mainly use the web version, it's good to have them as a backup with internet access is down.
      • Print versions of Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3. If you're the kind of person who really needs to hold a book while reading it.
      • You can also access the Student Solution Guides and other resources for Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3.
