Welcome!
Not published to studentsCurrentDear class,
Welcome to GSC-PS 470, Seminar for Majors! In this iteration of the course, we will spend time developing a deeper understanding of some aspects of the writing and research processes. The aim of this course is, therefore, to help you establish solid footing for the spring term so that when it begins, you are prepared to hit the ground running in the development of your thesis chapters.
I encourage you to stay consistent in doing the labor that will advance your project. You have a full academic year to develop your thesis. So, when May greets us, you should not be overwhelmed by the prospect of having to produce a major work in, say, 3-weeks' time. By then, you should only have to concern yourself with minor loose-end business.
That being said, this 2-sequence senior capstone experience is a lesson in trusting the process. If you do the work and put forward an honest effort, you will produce a good product.
I am excited to be able to support you throughout the academic year and to learn from you as you become budding experts on a topic!
