Writing Prompt: Invocations & Conjurings + Account + Reading Response to Upcoming "Odes & Elegies Pt.1" Readings// DUE Wednesday 2/26 @ 11:59PM

Please submit everything in a single document*~

1) Writing Prompt: Invocations & Conjurings--> Connect to your own understandings of invocation & conjuring as it relates to your own experiences; and compose a poem or lyric passage to explore them. This might mean writing a prayer or a spell or a creation chant (like Kaminsky, the Weird Sisters, or the Maori Creation poem) or a poem that calls upon repetition and anaphora (like Holmes, Fargason, or Vuong) or even a litany poem/ piece which features obsessive listing (Siken). Whatever you choose, lean into your language and the abundance of your experience; shoot for a piece long enough to encompass as much of your passion as possible.

2) Account: Brief (100-ish word) "account" about the invocation/conjuring that you wrote...

3) Reading Response: Respond to one of our readings for our upcoming discussion "Odes and Elegies Pt.1) in 150 words--> (Hikmet, Siken, Hass, Acevedo, or Brimhall)

Everything is due Wednesday 2/26 @ 11:59PM.
