Advocacy Letter
Advocacy Letter
Parents, community members, and even students often are required to advocate for issues important to themselves or their schools.
Choose an education-related topic about which you feel strongly and write a letter advocating for your cause. Perhaps you might write to the governor, the school superintendent, a principal, or a stakeholder in the community. You might want to advocate for professional development for teachers about Reality Pedagogy or for a counselor in every school. You might want to advocate for having school-wide project-based learning or for educating teachers about having a collaborative classroom.
Whatever your cause, write a letter to convince your audience why they should do what you are advocating for.
