Case Study Final Project

  • SECTION 1 - Background Information  (approximately 1 page)

    • The first section of your case study will present the child(ren)’s background. Include factors such as age, gender, school situation, and any relevant information you were able to find out from your conversations.   

  • SECTION 2 - Lesson Plans and Lesson Reflections   

    • The second section of your case study should include all lessons and lesson reflections, clearly marked by date, and organized in order (i.e. Lesson 1 – Lesson 7). 

  • SECTION 3 - Description of the Presenting Problem  (1-2 pages)

    • In the next section of your case study, you will describe the progress made as well as learning challenges students still have.  Report and summarize your assessment results from the initial and ongoing assessments you used with your students. 
      Include:

    • 1) any artifacts you have from your lessons that show students' thinking (you may have to recreate students' solutions from your notes) and 

    • 2) reflections and observations of the children’s stages of psychosocial, cognitive, and moral development with citations from the course textbook.  

  • SECTION 4 - Your Recommendations (2-3 pages) 

    • Provide your recommendations for continuing the academic growth of your students, based on your weekly lessons, assessments, and information gathered.  Explain how you reached your conclusions and any possible issues with your recommendations.  

  • SECTION 5 – Reference List  

    • Provide a list of references cited. This should include any resources used when planning weekly lessons and a citation of your textbook or any other resources used for information about stages of development.
