With your group, read the following article for your Guided Reading Assignment:

The Darkside of Leadership

You will meet in assigned groups to discuss the assigned reading for the designated weeks. Each group will determine a time to meet and each group member will have a rotating role. The roles include discussion leader, creative connector, critical perspective, and reporter. For groups with three members, you must have a discussion leader and reporter. You can choose whether to have a creative connector or critical perspective and alternate for each post. These group assignments will be uploaded in Moodle. Each group must have a virtual meeting and submit the guided reading handout by the deadline given in the Course Map. Each guided reading is worth 100 points. See below for more details regarding the roles:

 • The discussion leader is responsible for facilitating the group discussion and developing at least three questions to ask the group. The questions should prompt the group members to think deeply about the main points of the readings. You may highlight passages from the readings to emphasize key points and summarize information. The discussion leader will also make sure that all group members have an opportunity to speak during the meeting. The leader will add the discussion questions to the discussion summary.

 • The creative connector will make (at least two) connections among the readings and to social, cultural, political, or economic conditions related to how we navigate and embrace leadership. - supported by citations. You will add the connections to the discussion summary.

 • The critical perspective shares (at least two) critiques of the readings and offers a different perspective than what’s presented in the readings. You will need to add them to the discussion summary.

 • The reporter will provide a summary of the discussion including what was discussed, significant points, content that is unclear or additional questions as a result of the discussion, and additional information you would like to share. The reporter must participate in the discussion as well. The reporter will write the discussion summary and post it to Moodle in the designated discussion board.
Please note: The summary should include the role of each group member and their contribution to the group (i.e. discussion questions, creative connection, opposition points, etc.). The summary should be at least two pages in length, Times New Roman, in 12point font, and double-spaced. One submission is necessary for each group.

Groups must meet and submit documentation by Sunday at 11:59 pm of the designated week. The group meeting weeks are listed in the course map schedule. The guided reading group assignment is worth 100 points each.
