Re-read pages 174-177 in Burkeman about Patience.  Find a work of Art – Painting or Sculpture.  There is an Art Gallery on campus in the Art building, there are sculptures outside that building, there are sculpture at the Ecoscape and the Birmingham Museum of Art is free.  Pick one, the more complex the better and sit there contemplating it for 2 hrs.  No phone, no conversation, no eating, only bathroom breaks allowed.  After the experience write one page saying what time you started and ended, what the work of art was called and where it was.  Take a picture of the artwork and paste it into your writeup.  Then give a brief description of the work of art.

Mention

-         something you noticed about it right away.

-         something you noticed about it after about  30 min.

-         something you noticed about it after about  60 min

-         something you noticed about it after about  90 min

-         something you noticed about it at the end

Then use the rest of the 1 page to describe the experience and how you felt about and how your feelings may have changed over the time.
