Below is an overview of the Personalized Digital Leadership Strategic Plan that will serve as your final assignment for this course.  If you have any questions about the expectations for this learning activity, please let me know - but FIRST - be sure to review the rubric before asking questions! The modules and learning activities in this course were organized, designed, and scheduled intentionally so that you will be drafting, re-drafting, and re-re-drafting... throughout the course.

Final Leadership Strategic Plan Document & Presentation

As we have discussed throughout this semester, leaders are most effective when they “begin with the end in mind.” Additionally, you have learned about your own strengths, skills, and the importance of others relative to your personal and professional leadership competencies. Your final assignment for this course is to develop and articulate your Personal Digital Leadership Strategic Plan in written and oral formats. This is not a report about what you’ve learned about leadership, this is a Strategic Plan that illustrates what you’ve learned about YOUR own leadership and what you want to:

  1. do with it,
  2. use it for, and
  3. result from it.

Your final work will be evaluated based on how you illustrate that you are able to:

  • Express your comprehension of the relationships among your strengths, leadership skills, and leadership, professional and personal development,
  • Articulate the relevance of, as well as your strengths, skills, and intentions to support the leadership development of others,
  • Illustrate your ability to apply, analyze, and evaluate your leadership skills, behaviors, theories, and strengths relative to your personal and professional leadership goals.

Upload your final Personal Digital Leadership Strategic Plan document and presentation which must include the following components:

  1. Introduction
    • 10-word, or less, introduction (Digital Stamp) of yourself.
  2. Vision: The ultimate difference that you want to result from your personal/professional leadership development
  3. Mission: The measurable outcomes that result from your ability to implement your Plan.
  4. Values: An expression of why your mission and vision are meaningful to you personally. What core values ground your daily actions, leadership behaviors, and desired outcomes
3 – 5 SMART goals that incorporate
  1. A connection of your leadership style to an expression of how you will apply it to reach a personal, professional, or leadership development goal relevant to your future career.
  2. A connection of your leadership theory to an expression of how you will apply it to support the personal, professional, or leadership development of others.
  3. An additional goal to which you want to hold yourself accountable in relation to your personal development?

A detailed action plan that incorporates a minimum of:
    • Two tactics per strength that you will incorporate into your leadership behaviors, as well as how and when you plan to practice these.
    • Who you will include as mentors, accountability persons, or other networks as well as how you will remain engaged and connected to them?
    • Explain how you will use two digital tools to help you implement your strategic plan and achieve your goals.
    • If you plan to complete the Leadership Studies Distinction, how you will do so.

Conclusion:

    • The greatest lessons you’ve learned about your leadership and how you will apply them to your personal and leadership development?
    • Any advice you may have for next semester’s LS 200 class.
    • Closing remarks
