Fall Semester 2022

Dr. Mark S. Schantz

Final Celebration of Learning

Directions:  During our exam period on Thursday, December 8, 9:00 a.m. to noon, each of you will present for about 10 minutes.  Your PowerPoint should include a meditation on the following two points:

What do you want to “get done” in college?

This section of your presentation might include thoughts on the career path you wish to take, what sort of extra-curricular experiences might appeal to you (internships, study abroad, service learning, etc.) what shape your athletic participation might take, how you would nurture your values and develop as a person, what academic major or minor or distinction programs you might pursue, and how these would blend to make a life of significance for you.

How will accomplish your goals?

Here you might reflect upon the concrete steps you will take to accomplish your plan, including possible internships, participation in activities off-campus and during the summer, participation in Religious Life, or other activities both on and off campus, as well as an articulated plan of how you will complete an academic major and/or minor or possible “distinction” program. Be sure to include how you would complete your Explorations curriculum designated courses along the way (i.e., QA, SM, IA, GP, etc.) while leaving yourself some room for the unexpected as well as exploring areas of study that you have yet to discover.

I will be grading on the specificity of your goals and work plan and the coherence and cogency of your thoughts on these matters.  Show that you have done your homework by using the BSC College Catalog which is available on the BSC website.

And please let me know if I can help.
