This is your 4th major project.  For this assignment, you will practice your sighting/ measuring skills, use of value to depict form, and observational drawing skills to produce a fully rendered image of your two chosen objects.  For this assignment, you will focus on the surfaces of two objects of your choice. Your object should have different surface textures. Consider how your textures will play off of one another (smooth vs. rough, active vs. subdued, etc.). You are welcome to use an object from the classroom or an object you own. You cannot draw phones, laptops, or any nextgen electronics (earbuds, game consoles, wireless devices, etc.). These objects are enjoyable to use but are boring drawing subjects.  You must approve your item with me BEFORE YOU START YOUR DRAWINGS!

The main purpose of this assignment is to develop your observation skills, continue practicing arranging compositional space on your picture plane, and using mark making to depict texture and value.  Your depiction of texture is the most important part of this assignment.  Use your pencils to start laying out your drawing’s contours and use your micron pens to depict the values and textures. Remember to use one of the graphic techniques discussed in class (hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, scribbling, etc.) and cross-contour mark making.
