Hey everyone! My name is Hunter Smith. I am an Architectural Studies major and Biology minor. I am from Atlanta, Georgia and have lived there my whole life. After BSC, I hope to either pursue a career in Architecture specifically Urban Planning. My end goal has not yet been fully determined. In high school, I got interested in affordable housing and the allocation of it around major cities. From this I started to looked into Architecture and how it may affect a city.

Science fields have always interested me in school. Last summer I watched Hot Zone on National Geographic which sparked my interest in the idea of diseases. From this class, I want to learn about how each disease is treated around the world. I am super excited about this class because of the interactions of people and how the disease spread. Another thing that is unique to this class was how diseases miraculous start to appear. Questions about where they come from or even how they exist interest me. None of my parents are in a science-related field so my fascination came from what I watched on television or read about in class.

My fun fact is that I went to an Olympic Development Camp for Water Polo where I represented the Southeastern region. I am on the swim team here at BSC and have only been swimming competitively for a few years. My favorite show is Law and Order: SVU, I can almost always name the season from which the episode came from.

If money was not an issue I would travel to London, England. I would want to go back and visit the countryside. I would want to travel throughout the city and go to the British Film Institute. I would travel down the Thames River at night to see all the sights lit up and climb the O2 arena on one of the guided walks.

Hi Hunter, it is so great to have another class with you.Thankfully, we made it through Cell and Molecular Biology. I can totally relate with you on your parents not being in the medical field because neither of my parents are in the medical field either but my older sister is. I like to watch Law and Order: SVU too. Although, it's not my favorite and I can't name the episodes that good but I'll catch an episode here and there. It's so cool to know that you're on the swim team. I seen you guys went to Florida over Christmas break for training camp and the pictures were so pretty. I can't wait to get to know you more as the term goes on.

Hi Hunter!

I think Architectural Studies and Biology is such a cool combination of a major and a minor! I've never heard of anyone doing that before and I am so excited to see how it turns out for you smile

I can also relate to you about no one in your family being science-minded. My mom is a lawyer, as is her whole side of the family, and my dad is a computer science guy, so neither of them knew what to do when I told them I was majoring in Biology!

My favorite show is Criminal Minds and, like you, I can pretty much tell you the plot of an episode because I've seen the whole show so many times. It's the only show I've ever watched in its entirety (all fifteen season of it).

I knew you were on the swim team (obviously), but I didn't know you did water polo or that you had only been swimming for a few years. That's so impressive!

Hey Hunter! I think it is awesome that you went to the Olympic Development Camp for Water Polo to represent the Southeastern Region! I also think it is great that you are pursuing a major in Architectural Studies! My dad is actually a Landscape Architect! He works downtown and owns his own company! He does not do a lot of landscaping for many homes but rather the landscaping for many businesses around the Birmingham area! I love that you are pursuing both the Architecture major as well as the Biology minor! Another place that I would love to travel to is London also! I have never been to Europe and is somewhere I dream of going. I would love to see all the many sights that London has to offer but also the famous Big Ben! I think it would be so cool to travel to Europe and hopefully one day I will be able to do it! I can't wait to get to know you better through this class!
