I also really enjoyed learning about the history of Ebola. I remember hearing about it in school as a meer joke or meme. I remember hearing a student cough or sneeze and promptly after a wave of giggling children would yell "Ebola!" at the time I had no idea what the disease was, how it became "popular" enough to turn into a meme, or where it came from. I remember hearing about blood and how a patient would bleed from every pore, it seemed extreme and simply ridiculous. It wasn't until reading this chapter was my mind expanded and I learned that it's nearly impossible for one to bleed from every pore.
I also agree that it's very important to acknowledge the impact of human encroachment and how the disease could be contained within the animal kingdom. Because as you said the animals aren't coming to us, we are approaching onto them.
