Diane I like that we both chose virus with asymptomatic periods where hosts are still infectious as well as infecting both humans and animals. Your KANK virus seems very infectious and scary since it exists in both air and direct contact. We also both chose birds as the reservoir so it can spread far and fast. I like your use of kangaroos as a dead end host this is smart and I didn't think about the use of a dead end host to amplify the spillover into humans. The presentation of KANK as flu-like symptoms is cool too since many people will not go to get medical help until it is far too late as the virus will have grown into levels that doctors can not treat. Using a vaccine is smart and makes KANK seem like rabies since it doesnt have a cure but does have a vaccine.
