My virus would be called Carolymdia and it would have both an animal and human host. The virus would originate from the animal host of waterfowl such as an albatross. I chose large bodied waterfowl as the host as they are able to spread the disease to fisherman across countries and since birds are warm blooded they are able to exist and spread onto cooler continents and countries that insects would not be able to tolerate. It would also be able to exist in human carriers on their top layer of skin where it could be spread by person to person contact or through dust containing contaminated skin cells. This virus would be a DNA virus so it would not mutate itself out of existence and be able to survive in its capsule outside of a host organism for extended periods of time.  The host organism would carry the virus over the course of their lifetime asymptomatic however when infecting non-carrier humans whose body is susceptible to the virus penetrating their cells they would have a long incubation period of five years allowing them to infect more humans before the virus breaking the blood/brain barrier causing their body temperature to rise to lethal levels and leading to the neurotic appearance of individuals causing them to be unable to be treated unless sedated.  If infected host were sedated and restrained allowing them to be treated the viral load would likely have grown to a level that would prove lethal as the virus is asymptomatic until the terminal stages so it could only be treated by early detection in the blood.

Hey, Jonah!
What a SCARY VIRUS! My blood ran cold while reading this story. As much as scary Carolymdia virus sounds, I enjoyed your creativity. Your virus is an excellent example of a good Virus with the ability to infect lots of people and hard to find a cure. Albatross are among birds that have a long life span up to 50 years, and that will put more life in danger if the more they live equal to the more people they infect. And it worse than even the human infected by Carolymedia will have prolonged incubation that allows them to infect more humans. Carolymdia virus will kill lots of people while nearly impossible to find a cure since it is hard to detect at an early stage. I want to say that I hate Carolymdia Virus.

I love your choice for an albatross! the albatross has a wide range to nearly all over the globe and can fly long distances without stopping so your choice for that bird was very smart. Also skin to skin transmission is very interesting, I like the idea of a . Virus being able to spread through an infected host touching door knobs elevation buttons etc. And another person coming along and touching it. I also find it interesting because as human beings we are typically very affectionate and the virus can easily spread within a family or friend group through just simple hugging. I also enjoy how the virus can break the blood/brain barrier and leading to lethal body temperature. That's horrifying and extremely effective.
