Future career plans/major: I am a biology major, with an English (writing) minor. I wanna get a master's or PHD in entomology, or maaaaaybe zoology. Then I'm gonna have a specialized field researcher/mountain lady job.

Where are you from: I'm from the suburbs of Memphis, and I am not a fan of cities. (but I AM a fan of food. Birmingham is redeemed in my books because of it)

This year I want to: I don't know?? Learn something cool? I mean, genetics aren't my butter and cake but I'm sure I'll find something new to stew over.

Cool fact: So I already used up my dragon comment with this class last year so... Ok. I love the idea of sign language, and I know a few words, but I can't easily learn the alphabet for it because I made up a different signed alphabet already-- to help me learn to read wingdings. Ya'know, that font made of symbols? With the hands? It is an almost completely useless skill, BUT I CAN DO IT!  =D

If you could go anywhere: Heck man IDK, I don't like travel much. Or people. Or historical sites. I guess I would want to go through the appellation trail! While stopping to load up on good food. Or to Puerto Rico-- they have good boogie board waves.

(there was a mandatory 250 word count?? since When???)

Re: What I want to see this year-- I FORGOT ABOUT CLONING. I did a senior project in high school on cloning, and last I heard they were able to clone a dog? and sold the puppy to a rich person? I would love to hear whats possible now, and how they have improved it! Cloning people is morally screwy, but if you where able to do so then we could totally study how much your genes actually matter to your identity-- I don't know if I love that idea or hate it, but it is Fascinating nonetheless.

Raye I am thrilled to have another biology class with you. That is so interesting you want a PhD in one of those fields. Do you prefer learning about insects or animals more? That is so cool you want to do research, plus you’ll be in an incredible environment to learn. I love the mountains myself. Also, I agree with you, the food in Birmingham is awesome. We should show each other our favorite restaurants here. Your fun fact is so unique. What all does your signed alphabet include? I would love for you to demonstrate it to me sometime. I have always wanted to travel to the Appellation trail and Puerto Rico as well. It is on my bucket list to learn how to surf, so I could hit some waves there. Cloning is such an interesting topic I would love to learn about. I read last year in China that a man was able to successful genetically mutate someone.
