Hey Viktoria! What a well-written and interesting post! While I was doing my research for this post, I learned about many of the same maternal risks that you mentioned in your forum. I also wanted to commend you for choosing genetic disorders outside of Down syndrome. Personally, I found it difficult to find specific genetic disorders linked to maternal age. I found many articles that would say that a mother’s increasing age leads to more chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus, and they mention Down syndrome as the only example. I also really liked that you brought up the importance of maternity and paternity leave. I know that when I have a child, I would want to know that my job is secure so I could take the time I needed to care for my baby.
