Hey Natalie! I also think it would be really interesting to learn more about my DNA, but after researching this topic, I don’t know if it would be worth the possible risks. Also, the tests themselves are fairly expensive, and at this point in my life, I have better things to spend my money on. If I were to get tested, I also agree that I would try to avoid reading into the results too much. I learned a lot about the accuracy of these tests, and if my results raised any serious issues, I would seek further medical testing. In terms of the ethics behind DNA testing, I also think it is necessary the company have the individual’s consent before sharing any type of their information.
