In terms of the characterization of the Ottomans, I'll be really interested to hear what you think of the representation of the Calormenes this week in the Horse and His Boy. I don't think there's any cannibalism but there is A LOT of discussion of demons and demonising... which I think raises questions about how far "modern" folks have moved beyond the racial stereotypes present in Richard.
