Hi Carol, I totally agree with your sentiment that moderation is key for everything. We are able, for the most part, to control our responses to our food cravings before they become addictions. I still don’t understand completely the extent to which bacteria affects our predisposition to addiction. Perhaps our cravings for foods have a two-fold dependency on our own actions and whatever bacteria there is in our gut microbiomes. I also think it’s so interesting that you were able to learn about how alcohol consumption at night can lead to liver and pancreatic cancer. It kind of makes day drinking seem like less of a bad idea.
