As for the idea of this forum, I love allowing students to imagine and elaborate on their unique futures. It would be very easy to put something on this forum about wanting to be a travel nurse. Traveling the world, or even just the United States, helping people and getting paid a considerable about of money sounds appealing. However, if I were given the opportunity of freedom, I would want to travel immerse myself in other cultures and experience the way aspects of life are different from place to place. Staying in Air BnB's would be a great idea and economically for weeks stays at the time. Hypothetically, this 365-day trip would be funded by some creative outlets such as journalism, photography, or videography. My top ten locations list would include Barcelona, Amsterdam, Chicago, San Francisco, Veil Colorado, Japan, Brazil, Bora Bora, Hawaii, and Greece. I have been to a couple of these locations, but I was younger or did not have adequate time to explore the place. The opportunity to travel for a year fresh out of college would allow for such an open-minded experience to absorb mass amounts of culture from various locations around the world. The once that I chose were just a few that came to mind, but I would really love to travel anywhere because anywhere different from your home provides a unique opportunity for growth. I would very much enjoy this experiment. It would allow for personal and professional growth before starting a job, buying long term investments, and having a family.

Hey Annie. I totally agree with how you said this would be a unique opportunity for growth. I also feel like it would allow personal and professional growth before starting a job. I had some of the cities that you listed in my list. I also have a lot more cities that I would like to visit then the ten that I listed. I did not think about making money by journalism, photography or videography but that would be so much fun to document the whole experiment for people to see and to share your experience with them so they might be able to do the same thing.

Hey Annie, I really liked reading your post and think it’s fascinating all of the places you want to go visit. You bring up a great point about the Air BnB’s being economically useful for a trip around the world because it would definitely be a lot cheaper than staying in the big-name hotels. Your jobs you want to work while on the trip sound amazing and could be great for making a lot of memories and truly immersing yourself in the culture surrounding you. It’s cool that you’ve gotten to visit and travel before when you were younger. I feel like that would be a great experience even if you were at a younger age but going later in life would be better. I think it’s because you get to truly experience all that life has to offer and you could make more of your own decisions when planning your trip.

Annie, I love your forum post! I really resonated with everything you said! I especially resonated with your job idea. I think it would be so much fun to explore a job (especially a creative one) that’s not going to be your long term career so pretty much an extended Jan term. I also love how you mentioned cities that are in the United States as well as other abroad countries because I feel like most people didn’t think as locally. Your perspective about the opportunity to travel was also very eye opening and I absolutely loved how you mentioned that any opportunity to explore somewhere not close to home is an opportunity to grow.

I put that I would want to be a travelling doctor, so a travelling nurse isn't much different, but I never thought about making money in ways such as journalism and photography. I think that would be a great way to submerge yourself in the culture. You would be able to write through the perspective of the people that you are learning about and truly share what their life is like. I had a couple places in Greece on my to-go list, because I love Greek Mythology and would love to learn about it first hand. On place I didn't think about but would love to go is Barcelona because I think it would be beautiful. Brazil would also be a really cool place to travel.
