This is by far my favorite forum post. If given this opportunity, I think I would treat it as an opportunity to do all of the things I’ve wanted to do or won’t be able to do fully until I’m retired. As someone who is constantly indecisive and changing my mind about everything, I think my answer to this prompt is very conditional. But right now, I think I would choose some of my “bucket list” places that would really give me the opportunity to immerse myself into that given place’s culture. So, although I want to be a PA, I think I would spend that year doing something outside of the realm of the career I’m going to be doing for the rest of my life. So I think I would want to do something like write movie or book reviews since it’s flexible and manageable while on the road. The 10 locations I would want to visit would be: Rio, France, Greece, Australia, Iceland, Tanzania, Malaysia, England, Ireland, and India. Though I think traveling for a year would be such a rewarding experience, I do have a few setbacks: Is one week enough to really immerse yourself into the culture and get to know people in the area? Would constantly traveling be physically and emotionally exhausting? Would I be okay traveling alone? Though I have several more worries and questions, I do think the overall idea is very cool. I often find myself taking life too seriously and constantly stressing so I think an experience like this would be eye opening and an opportunity to relax without the weight of life taking its toll.

Hi Ansleigh! I have to agree with you, that I am also indecisive so some of the places I mentioned might change with time. I would love to travel to Rio, Greece, Australia, and Iceland too! When I thought about this prompt, it kind of reminded me a little bit of the Bachelor/Bachelorette. They go from city to city and are only there for a week at a time. The circumstances of the Bachelor/Bachelorette and these are very different, but I always enjoy seeing the cities and towns they choose to visit on the show. I also worry about traveling alone sometimes, so maybe we could go together and have a nice vacation for a whole year!
