My ultimate life goal is to become a surgeon, so if I got to pick one job to do while I traveled I think a surgeon would be that job. Each week in a different area I would try to get privileges at the local hospital and perform surgeries on people who would typically not be able to have these surgeries done either due to where they live or their socioeconomic level. It is hard to determine a top ten places but a few ones that I for sure want to go would be: Sparta, Rome, Athens, Paris, Bora Bora, Kwajalein Island (this is where my mom grew up), Berlin, Turks and Caicos, a safari somewhere in Africa, Singapore. I think this experiment would be amazing. I think its very common for people to instantly step out of college and into a 9-5 day after day job and never go out and live their life. We go through so much school because for the first quarter of our life that is our job then go straight into another job. I have always wanted to travel, and haven't done it much throughout my childhood. The only place I have gone out of the US is to Ecuador on a mission trip and I absolutely loved every second of it. So, this experiment would be something I dove into head-first.

Hey Nate, your post is great, and I really love what you want to do for your job while you’re on your trip. Being able to help those in need be able to get surgeries is probably the nicest thing I’ve heard. The lives you would be able to change due to your selflessness would really go a long way with people in the countries you’re visiting. I think the places you want to visit are some really interesting ones. Being a history buff, I’ve always wanted to go to Rome and Athens because there’s so much history in these places that can be learned. The mission trip you went on sounds like it was a lot of fun and I’d like to hear more about it when we get back on campus.
