I love this forum post! It is so different than the other ones and it is so much fun. I think that if I was given this opportunity, I would travel all over Europe and the Caribbean. I want to be a nurse, so traveling from city to city would be a little difficult as a nurse. But I think that if I could do a mission trip sort of program as a nurse that would be amazing. I have so many places that I want to go, but I think I would use this experience to travel to Europe and the Caribbean. I would love to visit Greece, Australia, London, Paris, Venice, Rome, Bora Bora, the Bahamas, Iceland, and the Dominican Republic. I think that getting to see all of these places and explore parts of their culture while working as a nurse would be incredible. I love learning about the different cultural aspects of different countries. One of our family friends is from Australia and I love to talk with her about that culture. This experience would definitely help me to become more culturally educated and travel the world while I am still young. I enjoy traveling and I hope to be able to travel in the future with my family. I would love to go on this experience with some of my friends though because it can be lonely traveling by yourself (I have learned this in quarantine). I think the constant traveling and changing time zones maybe a little exhausting, but this experience is so unique, and I would definitely consider it if it was presented to me!
Hi Caitlin! I enjoyed reading your post. One thing that really struck me was the diversity of the cities on your list! Those are all so cool! I'm sure you will be an awesome nurse! Traveling by yourself does seem lonely, especially if you're moving around so much that it's difficult to build friendships. Traveling with family is really special; part of the joy of having an interesting experience is watching those you love enjoy it as well. I’m also with you on wanting to have a job that you love while traveling—not sure if I could be a tourist for a year…

I enjoy your enthusiasm over the chance to explore! I agree that learning these lessons while we are young puts us at an incredible advantage, but then again, there is no wrong age to become more culturally educated! I think being a nurse would expose you to so many different types of people and places that would show you different would views. I know many people explore being a traveling nurse and have made careers doing exactly what this forum posts asks us to consider. Perhaps more people should examine this route of life and take the "road less traveled".

Hey Caitlin,
It would be so wonderful to travel the world as a nurse. I think as a nurse, you'd get to spend a lot of time personally interacting with your patients. This would be a great way to get to know the people of the countries and cities you visit. I also think that a year-long expedition of the world is a great thing to do while we are young, because as you said, the time zone changes can be terrible, but it might be less terrible while we are still young. I hope that someday you are able to visit most of, if not all, of these places!
