I think What We Do in the Shadows uses its Cliches really well. The movie had a good idea of what we expect to see out of a vampire and used those elements just enough to be funny without running the gag into the ground. It also made them all work into a story. When I went to watch it I was a little worried it would be all gags, so I was happy to see they were able to balance the jokes with the story
