While reading this article I learned about the 3 different ways to listen to music. I personally didn't even know I experience all of these planes instinctively. The reaction I got was to expand my ways of listening to music by realizing the ways I use all of these planes. The sensuous plane is just how we here the music and zone out to get away from everything. From my understanding, the expressive plane is a deeper meaning than the sensuous because it focuses on the actual meaning of the music and what it's trying to say. There is a controversial topic about music having meaning, and I would say yes because the makers of the music want to get a point across in my opinion. The third plane focuses on the importance of the tones and rhythm meanings. This being said I wonder what methods can you practice for a better understanding of music?
