I think Aaron Copland was right on the money on the analysis of the three planes of listening. I think in order to be a better musician and student 0f music I need to be aware of how I listen to music on each of these planes. Everyone could benefit from listening better to music with these strategies. The theater analogy gave me a better understanding of what he meant. He pulled it together for me.
