"How We Listen"

This article really sticks out to me because I had never thought of how people really listen to music. He mentions that, "Music allows them to leave it, and they go off to a place to dream, dreaming because of and apropos of the music yet never quite listening to it" (Copeland 1). I feel like I am one of these people. When I listen to music it can make me forget about everything that is going on in my life, I do not listen to what the lyrics are, it just becomes a thing that overtakes my mind and makes me not think. I know that sounds funny but I feel like what I experience is what Copeland was talking about. It really makes me sit back and think about how I perceive things.
