The still image has a strong representation. Capturing an image has an impact to a point where it is embedded in your mind. The historical events have a strong impact. The visual documentation of the Civil Rights in Birmingham made people aware of what was happening. The reprinting of the photos in the media brought more attention to the matter. The monk on fire was denied by the New York Times to post the picture because they found the picture insensitive. This is like times now today, how some photos are not posted because some would say because of the insensitive content. Photography is like how it was in the past. People respond to a picture, in other words, no picture no proof. There is an emotional force from pictures. From the historical events captured in Vietnam, to the current events happening, changes the way people feel about the situation. Photography has an impact on people and to the world to this day.
