As always, my favorite and the most significant character for me is Sita. I think it is important to note how differently she is portrayed all throughout the different Ramas and in Sita Sings the Blues. "Three Hundred Ramas" pointed out how different cultures focus on different main characters. For example, Valmiki focuses on Rama, Vimalasuri's focuses on Ramayana, and Kannada and Tamil on Sita (44). I think it also important how Sita is presented in different places. For example, in the Kannada  village they focus on Sita's birth, wedding, and trials but in the Tamil telling they made Sita heroic (which I love) (44). In Sita Sings the Blues, all three of the narrators/podcasters one of the few things they can agree on is how much Sita adores Rama despite how she is treated. The portrayal of Sita singing the blues is also indicative because of the content of the songs. I interpreted it as the blues songs that she is singing are so sad and kind of pathetic. I also detected a bit of sarcasm and facetiousness within each song and how the animation was done.
