I enjoyed reading this book and hearing about all the elements Fink takes into consideration when making his photographs. Tactics such as leading the viewer's eye and using shapes to break up the frame are fun techniques I'm excited to try out in my own work. He also includes some helpful tips that you would think are common knowledge but can get lost in the haste to get that perfect picture. Things such as not constantly looking at the result of your pictures on digital, or even being too distracted and losing the sense of the moment are interesting warnings that I have not considered before. I found the parts about voice and finding yourself in the photograph to be especially compelling seeing that, as a writing minor, those are also important elements to create a compelling piece.
