The strong use of repetition and the variation in the size of the pictures works to make the piece stand out. There is a lack of abstraction in anything but images which were already abstract. The focal point in the middle seems to be the most abstract place in the piece. There is a definite central movement to the piece, but the way the warm colors are introduced to the piece detracts from the overall feel
My eyes re immediately drawn to the cacti in the center of the collage. They add a pop of color amongst the different images. Each image you used was repeated at least once, which is interesting. I don't know if this is a strong collage because it feels like you just dragged and dropped images. Maybe add a little more thought to where you place an image.
When I first look at the image I was immediately drawn to the rockets around that outside. I feel like it could of flown better throughout the project. After looking at it for a while I couldn't take my eyes off of the middle with the mountain and the cactus. I feel as if it could of been made a little better and made it flown a little better with the lines of the pictures.
I like the different perspective of the images your collage shows, as with the rockets showing different sections from below. I think the way you sectioned off the design is unique. It is almost like they are different tiles or pieces of a puzzle. You used all of the color tones, warm, especially with orange, blue and green cool tones, and neutral tones with the grey and tan. In my opinion, I don't know that the piece flows, because the pieces are simply placed on random sections of the grid, rather than in a fluid or connected structure. I am curious to know how the pieces reflect meaning to you.
i really like how you used repitition and that it looks clean, could probably use more photos but overall it looks well thought out and almost symmetrical. You could probably use more colors within the collage
The use of repetition makes the overall design stand out. When I first looked at it my eyes were drawn to the mountain in the center. I don't think this piece is as abstracted as it could be. There is a lack of flow throughout the piece.
I like how the collage makes us think about the idea of movement. The contrast between the colors worked really well in this collage. I believe it would be better if you could use some different colors as well, even though the design itself grabs our attention.
I am first drawn to the magnitude of the amount of sand you see all over the picture. The orange of the rocket makes the image pop. The cactuses and mountain in the middle seem a little odd when looking at the rest of the picture but I take it that those images represent you in a lesser way when compared to the sand and rocket.
the design is well balanced and uses warm, cool, and neutral colors. I think you should use more images and vary the shapes to make the design more interesting. It's a square composition filled with more squares, so maybe add some curves to break it up.
I like the repetition in the piece, but think you could have benefited from more imaages. Using a grid is a specific layout that has a history in art. Are you using it because it relates to your idenity? Or was it just how the design turned out? If it is for a reason please let me know and you can print it. If not, please make some changes and let me see it before you print it.
Yes I choose to use the grid intentionally because rocket represents my dreams and aspirations and the sand represents where I’ve came from and how much I need to uncover to reach them. The grid helps symbolize that I am slowly uncovering my dreams and aspirations piece by piece.
