The best example of this prediction is the time that Nichiren predicted a Mongol invasion of Japan. Decades later, this prediction came to fruition not once, but twice.

I think you could make this more vivid by describing (in brief) Kamakura Japan. What was it like to live during that time of feudal lords, invasions, and other massive upheavals? That would then illustrate why mappō was so compelling.
