I introduce the school of Nichiren with some historical background. Then I talk about Nichiren himself, his interpretation of the sutra, and the school's relationship to it. Next, I talk about how Nichiren, because of his interpretation of the sutra, that persecution was a foregone conclusion and was going to happen to him for being a 'real Buddhist' of sorts. This led to sectarian practice in the school, viewing other schools as outright wrong. Then, I show how modern day Nichiren, found in Soka Gakkai, continues the tradition of the early school and how it carries and presents the baggage of the previous sections of the paper. Finally, I draw conclusions about how Nichiren's experiences have created an identity that persists to today.

Cole, I haven't read your paper, but do you have a section discussing the actual text of the Lotus Sutra (not just Nicheren's interpretation)? If not, I think this would improve your paper. It adds an important factor to the writing and helps the audience have a better understanding of the concepts.
