Before: Eve’s decision to eat from the tree could be further proof of her independence since she pondered the words of the serpent and ended up making her own choice as to whether or not she was going to partake of fruit from the tree. In fact, one could claim that Eve’s decision to eat from the tree and her offering the fruit to Adam is a sign that Eve was more than just Adam’s inferior; she was the one controlling the entire situation.

After: It is natural that men would want to assert their control over women when there is evidence that women are to blame for the fall of humanity. Regardless of whether or not Eve manipulated Adam, she proved that women are not trustworthy and therefore need to be controlled.

I like how much your after one shows the ridiculousness of the argument that others use. I think it serves to show how the Bible and one chapter of it can flow into so many different ways of life. This perception of women and the reliance on the story of Adam and Eve to perpetuate it is throughout culture and the after shows how that happens.
