Clement had finally initiated the council in Vienne. This proved to lack anything, except issuing how glorious King Philip was and the Templars' dissolution. This council was the final nail in the Templars' coffin that would allow Philip to get away with it all. Without any Templars to initiate a dispute against the assets that Philip had gained, nothing could be questioned. Nevertheless, this was also shortsighted because Philip IV ended up dying just two years after this council.
Years later, Clement initiated the council in Vienne. The council lacked substance, only congratulating King Philip and dissolving the Templars. This would allow Philip to confiscate the assets of the Templars legally and absolve him from the murder and torture. With no Templars to initiate a dispute against King Philip during the council, there were no questions. Nevertheless, King Philip did not have much time to revel in the spoils he attained, as he died shortly after. This sentence does sound more fluent and more enticing to the read because there aren't any questions as to who or what is going on when it comes to nouns and verbs. I would say it does improve my work a great deal.
