strengths: humble, strong, courageous, powerful, virtuous, 

Flaws: can be exploited because they are so religious, are against regular society (if this is a flaw)

motivations: God, the Pope, Pilgrims, keeping the Holy Land safe, 

obstacle: Philip IV taking their money and killing them

transformation: they ended up being dissolved for approximately 700 years until 2013 when they were reinstated. 

2. Philip IV

strengths: he was a king, had loyal guards and court, motivated

flaws: greed, power-hungry, diabolical, sneaky, 

motivations: money, wanted to kill all the templars and take their wealth

transformation: he did just that but then died shortly after

I am sure the Templars were not perfect. I think that this might be one flaw in your story. Can you humanize them a bit more? This might entail more research.
