Before
The story of Rahab has remained a popular narrative of a woman from the Bible. Overtime, it’s interpretation has evolved and been a source of study for scholars both from a feminist stance and from a general religious scholarship stance. Theological questions of morality, ethics, and Rahab’s position in society have arisen in response to the story of Rahab. The
narrative has evolved over time and as different cultures have studied it differing interpretations have developed. No matter the interpretation of Rahab that one has, it is agreed that she fulfills an essential role in the Israelites conquering of Jericho. Of the varying interpretations, the Western feminist view of Rahab’s narrative focuses on her role as a hero
in the Israelites conquering of Jericho, however the postcolonial interpretation that considers Rahab as a colonized person is more representational of her status in the book of Joshua.

After
A prostitute of the Bible is a good faithful woman. This statement may sound contradictory given verses such as Proverbs 23:27-28 that says “a prostitute is a dangerous trap; a promiscuous woman is as dangerous as falling into a narrow well. She hides and waits like a robber, eager to make more men unfaithful.” Yet interpretations of Rahab range from a good faithful woman to a role model for feminists. The correct interpretation is one that represents Rahab as a victim of the Israelites' conquest of Jericho.

I like your after version better, but I think the first sentence particularly could be reworded a little. I see what you were trying to do. Maybe something like "It sounds contradictory, but a prostitute of the Bible is a good faithful woman."
