Before:

The title of this paper may seem a little scary to anyone who grew up in even a remotely religious household, rightfully so. According to Christian tradition, everyone is a sinner, and is born into it.  The only thing we can do to “fix” sin is to turn to Jesus.  We know Jesus as God’s son and leader of the Christian movement.  However, according to Scripture, and many old and new religious beliefs, He is also the King of the Jews sent down to rescue them from their slavery.  Why would it be important for Jesus to be a king and why is He any different than those before Him?  In the process of exploring this question, this paper will stress the importance of Jesus’s traits and what sets Him apart. This is important because Christians believe that the entire Old Testament is just a prophecy of Jesus and who He would be to them.  It was important for Him to fulfill the prophecies through His baptism, miracles, and who He was to the people as a spiritual leader so that He can be worthy to stand as king of the Jews.
