Before: The Jewish people needed a man to rule, but they needed one that was set apart from the previous kings because all of the appointed kings in the past were never able, or never tried, to free them.

After: Previous Jewish leaders failed to liberate their people frequently, so what was going to set Jesus apart from them?

I hated that line "The Jewish people needed a man to rule..." so my main goal was to reword that but also to get rid of some unnecessary details in this sentence
