In the "yarn bombing" reading, the first quote talks about the happiness someone feels when looking at an inanimate object that has been wrapped in yarn and how it "brings it to life." I could not agree with this statement more. I think the "yarn bombing" gives the inanimate objects a personality in a way.

The "stitch by stitch" article talked about how knitting is a way for some people to express their emotions and in this article, in particular, the knitting circle allowed this group of people to discuss difficult topics. It also talked about how in the 1760s sewing and knitting were political tools for women. I did not realize that women spun their own yarn to show their support for the Revolution.

I have always thought of knitting as a hobby, not as a way of expressing political ideas. It was interesting to read about how people used knitting get a certain reaction from the viewer and how women in the 1760s used knitting as an expression of authority.
