I think one thing that I can actually relate with although I have not taken notice of it during the times that I crochet until I read the article is the fact that I enjoy crocheting in a quiet environment. I mean not dead quiet  but pretty much a place where the most noise is gonna come from me. It is quite interesting because I tend to either do some critical thinking about something that I have in mind or I start trying to figure out how to do some really cute patterns on my piece of work. Reading that Sewell and Payne take advantage of the knitting setting to discuss difficult topics I guess confirms the idea that crocheting and knitting is an activity that engages the mind. Until now I have always taken it as something I do when I’m bored and want to keep myself busy but it means more than just a hobby to me now.
