I find it very interesting that these women had such an impact on the American Revolution, and yet, this is the first time I have ever heard of this. Without the crafting of these women during the American Revolution, they men probably wouldn’t have been able to fight the war. Hermanson even notes that some men had to fight naked because of the lack of clothing (p. 2). Without the women, more men would have died or injured in the revolution. The second article made the banners that connected all the way back to the history and tradition of these women in the American revolution. I think this is what is so captivating to me about this tradition. It connects s many people across so many generation, and it continues to connect people and make a different in people’s lives. This theme of women not receiving the recognition they deserve and the theme of connection seem to be very prominent in these readings.
