I found the fact that women became essential, instead of being seen as just a stay at home mom and nothing more. Women were needed in times of war, not to serve on the front lines but to serve behind the scenes as providers of essential needs. These women stepped up to make clothes for their families and for soldiers on the front lines. The best part about that is that they would deliver the clothes to those men personally because they were able to slip past enemy soldiers since they were women. They became even more valuable to the war effort once they found out the enemy was not concerned with what they were doing. So the women began to slip information about the enemies into balls of yarn and deliver it to the troops. It is just amazing how much these women helped behind the scenes during times of war. This reading made me realize that there are a lot of valuable information during war times that came from women. It is amazing to think that even before women could serve, they still played a big part in the war effort. The reading was very clear and did not leave me with many questions.
