Before reading the article, I viewed knitting as a hobby that elder women did for fun. After reading the article I was informed that knitting was much more than just a hobby. I realized that women who knitted during the Revolutionary war played a big part in it oppose to just the patriots in general. As well as contributing so much, they ended up be called patriots as well. It was just crazy how women played such a big role but was never given the credit they deserve for what they did. What stood out to me was the bar that they set for women was so low to just breastfeeding, and childcare but as much as the women helped you would think it would've been higher. But as I read the article it made me think about the perspective men had on woman and has it changed to this day. Mostly because women have played a big part in my life like my mom and sister and I wouldn't want anybody to limit them into what they can accomplish.
