I have learned more about how knitting has been used to empower women. Knitting goes far back in the history of female empowerment. I had always thought of knitting as a typical “girly hobby” or women’s craft. The article states that “ it has been speculated that knitting has always been women’s work because it was an activity compatible with breastfeeding and childcare in that it could be interrupted and resumed easily”, that sentence bothered me because I’ve learned how important knitting actually is. Knitting goes back all the way to the revolutionary war. Again I’ve learned how important knitting was.
