I was very surprised when I read that the Revolutionary Knitting Circle was founded by a male. We saw a continued theme in our reading that knitting was mainly in the atmosphere of women, so to the men that like to knit, this could be very inspirational. In this activist group, something that stood out was the diversity. This group has a variety of people in their family, and that is what makes them so successful. They do not discriminate against anyone. Their approach towards social justice movements is safer and provides a safe place for people that are softer spoken as too being aggressive.
